I am a mover and a maker working primarily with interdisciplinary performance. Originally from Northwest Ohio, I received my BFA in Studio Art with a minor in Dance from Bowling Green State University. I continued my studies in Interdisciplinary Arts & Media at Columbia College Chicago where I earned by MFA in May of 2013. I currently live and teach in Bend, Oregon.
The body is my main medium of expression, mine and other peoples'. I love developing work from the collective mind and body of the ensemble, using the body as a holder of collective memory and history. I also explore social media as artistic performance. Through the use of virtual space and expression of self, I examine personal space and the repercussions of the virtual on the real.
Inspired by embodiment and a deep connection to my own physical experience, I am passionate about the stories our bodies tell.
A lifelong student, I explore yoga, mindfulness, meditation, and various other movement practices and styles as I broaden my pallet for physical expression.
